Link - Website Blog With More Images This morning at Warnham Local Nature Reserve started off quieter than usual — not a single bird in sight at the reflection pool. At first, it was a bit disappointing, but it also gave me the chance to slow down and focus on the smaller details that often go unnoticed. As I explored the pool, I spotted some balloon flies skimming across the water’s surface, their delicate movements perfectly mirrored by the beautifully coloured reflections beneath them. It was a gentle reminder that sometimes the smallest, most overlooked moments can create the most interesting and captivating photographs. Capturing these little creatures in such a serene setting turned out to be a delightful challenge. The patterns, colours, and fleeting nature of their movements made every shot unique. I always enjoy finding these unexpected scenes — they’re the little surprises that keep wildlife photography exciting. I’d love to hear your thoughts on these imag...
Website - Blog With More Images As I sit down to write this post, I can’t help but reflect on the incredible morning I had on December 10, 2024, right here in the heart of Thailand. There’s something uniquely grounding about waking up to the peaceful sounds of nature and spending time in the serenity of our home’s back garden in Amphoe Phaisali. Today, nature seemed to have something special in store. The morning began with the gentle light of the sun filtering through the trees, casting a warm glow on the garden. As I stepped outside, I was greeted by some stunning visitors—each one adding a touch of beauty to the quiet surroundings. First, I spotted an Oriental Garden Lizard, its bright green and orange scales shimmering in the sunlight as it basked on a nearby branch. These reptiles are such a captivating sight, and watching one up close reminds me of the vibrant wildlife that thrives in this part of the world. Not long after, the melodic call of a Plaintive Cuckoo filled the air. T...
Website - Blog With More Images There’s something magical about starting your day surrounded by nature’s wonders. On the morning of October 14, we found ourselves cruising through the serene waters of Bueng Boraphet, Thailand’s largest freshwater swamp. The experience was nothing short of extraordinary—a feast for the eyes and soul. As the golden hues of sunrise painted the horizon, the skies and wetlands came alive with activity. One of the first marvels we encountered was the majestic Eastern Marsh Harrier, gracefully soaring above the waters. Its powerful flight set the tone for what would become an unforgettable morning. Next, the vibrant Grey-headed Swamphen captured our attention with its striking plumage, standing out brilliantly against the lush green reeds. These elegant birds looked as if they had stepped straight out of a watercolor painting, a reminder of nature's artistic touch. The morning continued with sightings of the delicate Cotton Pygmy-Goose, gliding effortless...
